Are you wanting something different than what your current life is giving you but you’re not sure how to get there?
Do you sometimes doubt the decision you’ve made and you’re not sure what to do?
The concept of slowing down to speed up is actually about listening.
It’s about creating the sort of self alignment that feels amazing and gives you the accuracy and power to jump into the slip-stream of where you are supposed to be in this moment of your life..
There are a few ground rules I have for you before you embrace and practice this 4 Step Roadmap.
- You Must Take Imperfect Action.
What your mind tells you about your actions is often less than favourable and could be critical. So our first ground rule is that you must take action that is not perfect. Expect this from the start. Everything is going to be ok. You are going to act and it isn’t going to be perfect, and that is going to be perfect (see what I did there). 😉
- Only Baby Steps are Allowed.
You need you to take action on the very smallest step you can. When you can see your way forward, often the step is too big. This ground rule is about you breaking your step down into 3 smaller steps first before you even begin. Try the smaller step on for size and see if it’s small enough. If it’s not then lets do that again and break each of those 3 steps down into 3 smaller steps. Keep doing this until you have some action steps that are comfortable and actionable and they don’t freak you out.
- Replace Judgement with Curiosity.
This ground rule is super important! Have you recently monitored your thoughts for self criticisms? Do you know how critical you are of yourself? If not then you will only appreciate this ground rule as you start to notice the tone of your thoughts. This rule is about replacing the critical thought with this statement “well isn’t that curious that I’m thinking (such and such)”.
Here is your 5 Step Roadmap to help you Slow Down so you can Speed Up:
I am giving you a roadmap here to a very simplified plan to get you started.
There are more comprehensive ways of doing this exercise but I wanted to break this down into a very actionable 5-Step Map for you that you can do sitting on the train, on the toilet, in the car or anywhere you are..
Here is your 5 Step Map 🙂
Here I have filled it in for you… change it as you need to…
- When: first thing in the morning
- Where: laying in bed when your eyes pop open
- What: put your hand on your heart (or your head or your belly) and ask yourself this… “What do you need from me today?”
- Listen: what did you hear?
[Do not overthink this! What you hear is what your heart is telling you.
This is not the time to doubt yourself!
Listen and show yourself the respect of taking action on that today.]
- Sleep. Rinse. Repeat.
You can use this 5 Step Map to check in with yourself when you need it. Sometimes when I’m feeling emotions that I don’t understand I will use this map to quickly and very effectively ask myself what it is that I’m needing in that moment. I am constantly amazed at what my heart tells me at those times and it has really helped me to divert self sabotage into much more productive actions.
Have you developed a good method to focus inward and hear what it is you really want?
I’d love to hear your method so let me know in the comments below.
The problem with transformation is never a lack of ideas, it’s a lack of time for application. You can so very easily create an easy fix for this with a simple action of putting a 5 minute appointment in your diary, on repeat, every day.
I have a few spaces available in my Life Coaching program. With me. And you. 1-1. It’s Personal. Powerful. with baby action steps each week. We’re going for 1% change each day.
Is your soul nudging you?
Here’s to you being happy 🙂
