A delicious dressing that has a lovely balance of sweet and savoury.
All the ingredients are ‘whole foods’ so this dressing ‘feeds’ your body. Full of nutrition. Full of healing. Full of Flavour.. Yumm!
- 100ml Orange Juice*
- 280ml EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
- 120ml Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/3C Coconut Sugar
- 1/2t Pepper
- 2t Pink Salt
- Put all ingredients in a Blender.
- Blend for 30 seconds on medium speed.. Speed 5/10
- *You will need ~ 300g Oranges to produce 100ml of juice
I use Melrose Apple Cider Vinegar which is a raw vinegar that is very good for you with the ‘mother’ enzyme. It is a great Australian Brand..
I have used Braggs and it is delicious in this recipe and also has the ‘mother’ enzyme 🙂
A note about Olive Oil. EVOO is the first pressing of the olive. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is raw and enzyme rich, very healthful. There are lots of great brands. Do your homework and check it is a good quality EVOO. When I havent been sure about a Company’s product I have rung them and asked them of their process just to check that I’m getting the right quality for me. Dont be afraid to do this if you are unsure of your brand.
Oil’s can go off/rancid.. if it has a rancid, old, cupboardy smell to it then it has ‘expired’. Dont use it. It’s difficult for your body to process a food that has lost it’s vitality/died.
Pink Salt. I use Himalayan Pink Salt. It is said to be the purest form of salt.. there are amazing health benefits of Himalayan Pink Salt.. some are:
- Aids in proper metabolism functioning
- Lowers blood pressure
- Creates an electrolyte balance
- Increases hydration
- Prevents muscle cramping
- Strengthens your bones, and
- Helps your intestines absorb nutrients
So there you have it..
A delicious dressing can add alot of flavour and balance to a salad or some steamed vegetables. You can even use it to create a quick pickled veg as a lovely side dish to a meal..
