This is a sweet and sour flavourful dressing that can be used in many different types of salad. It is versatile and fresh. It doesn’t have an overpowering or strong flavour that would interfere with a Main Course Salad or a strong-flavoured protein.
It makes a lovely balance of flavours to support a salad that is paired with many different proteins.
- 100ml Orange Juice
- 280ml Rice Bran Oil
- 120ml Apple Cider Vinegar*
- 1/3C Agave** (please substitute your preferred sweetener)
- Put all ingredients in a Blender.
- Blend for 30 seconds on medium speed.. Speed 5/10
- *I use Melrose Apple Cider Vinegar.. I have used Braggs and it is very yummy aswell 🙂
- **I use Loving Earth Brand of Agave
- **substitute Maple Syrup/Rice Malt Syrup/Honey
I use Melrose Apple Cider Vinegar which is a raw vinegar that is very good for you with the ‘mother’ enzyme. It is a great Australian Brand..
In the past I have used Braggs and it is also delicious in this recipe 🙂
A note about Rice Bran Oil. This recipe calls for a neutral flavoured oil which is why we have used Rice Bran Oil… If you swap this oil try to pick the most neutral flavoured oil that works for you as this will give you the best ‘flavour’ results for this salad dressing.
Oil’s can go off/rancid.. if it has a rancid, old, cupboardy smell to it then it has ‘expired’. Dont use it. It’s difficult for your body to process a food that has lost it’s vitality/died.
Agave. Agave can be a controversial ingredient. You need to do what is right for your body. I use the Loving Earth brand of Agave and I trust their ethical sourcing and integrity when it comes to the processing of this plant.
The Agave I use is raw, unfiltered and low GI.
Again if you swap this out choose a sweetener this a fairly neutral flavour so you can retain the delicious flavour of the salad dressing.
